Utility network services
The utility network accesses utility data through four service types:
- Feature services recognize the extended feature types in the utility network, such as assemblies, devices, and structures. They apply operations such as edits and queries on utility network features.
- Utility network services provide tracing capabilities on networks, manage subnetworks and tiers, and validate network topology.
- Network diagram services provide the capability to create, store, edit, and maintain network diagrams.
- Version management services work with branch versioned datasets, exposing capabilities to manage versions with feature services.

Utility network services and network diagram services are available with the ArcGIS Utility Network Management extension.Publishing utility network services
When publishing utility network services, there are some necessary preconditions, such as ensuring that database connections and ArcGIS Enterprise portal accounts are valid. There are also some differences in the behavior of utility network services, whether consumed in ArcGIS Pro or as a web map. For more information about publishing with the utility network, including several scenarios, see Publish and consume services with the utility network.
